Example Registries:

Example registries, include:

· EPA Environmental Data Registry - (EDR) including data elements from selected international, national, and federal standards, EPA's data standards. This is an implementation of ISO/IEC 11179.

· EDR terminology module, the Terminology Reference System - including terminology from state environmental cleanup activities and environmental thesaurus terms

 

· EDR chemical module, the Chemical Registry System - including chemical identification information for regulated chemicals.

 

·  Intelligent Transportation System Data Registry - The IEEE ITS-DR is a centralized data dictionary or repository for all ITS data elements and other data concepts that have been formally specified and established for use with the US national ITS domain.


· National Health Information Knowledgebase - Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW), including metadata for the data in Australian healthcare systems.

· FAA Data Registry - for data used by the U.S. Federal Aviation Agency.

· United States Health Information Knowledgebase - The United States Health Information Knowledgebase (USHIK) goal is to build, populate, demonstrate, and make available for general use a data registry to assist in cataloging and harmonizing data elements across organizations and to utilize selected Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) data elements for demonstration of its capability.

· Basic Semantic Registry (BSR) (prototype registry for data description across various industry sectors for electronic data communication, including commerce-related EDI)

· Microsoft UDDI registry  - A free UDDI registry that serves as a white pages business directory and a technical specifications library.

· IBM UDDI registry - The IBM Web Services Test Area is a live demo server created to give users a simple taste of how applications and components can operate as Web services.

 · WordNet - WordNet® is an online lexical reference system whose design is inspired by current psycholinguistic theories of human lexical memory. English nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs are organized into synonym sets, each representing one underlying lexical concept. Different relations link the synonym sets. This is an example of a terminological registry.

 · Dublin Core Open Metadata Registry - The Dublin Core Metadata Initiative's Open Metadata Registry is a collection of RDF schemas, application profiles and related semantics belonging to various resource communities. The overall goal is the development of a metadata registry providing authoritative information regarding the DCMI vocabulary and the relationship between terms in that vocabulary.

 · DoD XML Registry - The DoD XML Registry constitutes guidance in the generation and use of XML among DoD communities of interest and is the authoritative source for registered XML data and metadata components.
